I rented & watched this the day after I saw Gandhi (1982) liked the other film better (’nuff said?). I think Seinfeld got this one right when he parodied it in his episode of the same name. A story about a horribly burned pilot the nurse who tends to his wounds love but primarily adultery during the war … warms your heart doesn’t it? NINE Oscars (like Gigi (1958)) including for Supporting Actress Juliette Binoche & Director Anthony Minghella (whose Screenplay Writing was also nominated). Kristin Scott Thomas and Ralph Fiennes were nominated for their leading roles. Can you say "weak year"?
