Body Snatcher The (1945)
Body Snatcher The (1945)
A frightening tale of an ambitious doctor (Henry Daniell) trying to escape his past including a relationship with the nefarious title character played by Boris Karloff. Russell Wade plays the doctor’s apprentice who exhibits a better bedside manner than his tutor; Bela Lugosi (in his final onscreen pairing with Karloff) appears briefly as the doctor’s assistant. Rita Corday plays a woman who brings her lame child (Sharyn Moffett) to the doctor for help. Edith Atwater plays the woman who despite all his faults stays with the docter she once loved. Robert Wise (West Side Story (1961) and The Sound of Music (1965)) directed this film adaptation of the Robert Louis Stevenson story.
